The Graveyard

I think one of the nicest things about owning a newer boat, besides
performance and comfort, is leaving the boat graveyard behind. I mean,
let's be serious. Most of the boats in this group are horribly dated in
every way. In most cases the companies that built them couldn't hack it
and fell apart.

Express 30: Dated beyond belief. Still a quick boat, but ugly lines and
a van interior hurt this C&C wanabe that always looked cheap next to
it's C&C cousins.

Siedlemann 30: Dated when it was released by playing it safe with every
aspect of it's design and among the most cheaply constructed boats
along with Coronado, Mac, Irwin and US Yachts. Not a boat for the poor;
a boat for the ignorant. This is a boat Loco claims to like!

Coronado 27: Of all the old boats here, the 27 can make some excuses.
It's still better built than many of the later boats and is certainly
better than the boats above. Still, it's too conservative to be
appealing to most folks.

Kirie Elite 32: Katy's boat says "I want to be different" and "I want
something better than an O'Day." With the Kirie you get all that, but a
boat still not as stout as a Pearson or C&C. You also get a boat with
poor resale to put it mildly.

Jeff and Donal have relatively modern designs. Doug has nothing...a
Trawler. Crantz has no boat. Joe has something I've only seen at the
dock...but it's steel and cool in it's own way. Thom has a Capital
Yachts PH 29 from the Gulf series and at his age, no one can say a damn
thing.

Would that that be true.
