![]() "Peter Wiley" wrote in message Tell me about it, I've been gone for nearly 4 months. Fremantle down 115E to 65S then NW across Kerguelen plateau, south over the Princess Elizabeth Trough back to 67S through the pack and a fast run back to Hobart. Souns like a great trip..... I envy you. Perfect autumn weather ATM so I've been sailing at least 3 days/week. Went out yesterday afternoon in perfect conditions, tacking into the Channel out the front of my place and watched the sunset over the western hills. Wind died at sunset so I just drifted until the land breeze kicked in and sailed back on zephyrs to the beach. Home for a hot shower, a bottle of cab shiraz and dinner. Damn I'm working 5/12s Here - faugh. Time to exercise the killfile filters - again. Never engage them..... just don't reply. When you going to launch Overproof? Group launch should be mid May or June first..... earlier the better. CM |

Of course, in your case, when you step on one, it's not due to intent but more that there simply isn't any floor space in your floating hovel off a tropical hellhole that isn't completely covered at least 3 deep, feeding off the debris of your pathetic existence. PDW Peter, (sort of an apt name, BTW) Getting booted and breaking rules on purpose to reveal netKKKops like Ganz and KKKatyKunt are two different things. Isn't it sad when you consider it that KKKatyKunt and Ganz both had a chance to read my post a week or two ago saying I was not continuing with Individual net since they were becoming a pay service as of April 1 but they went ahead and revealed themselves anyhow to be netcops? All for the privilege of depriving me of three or four days of a service I was dropping anyhow. Seems like a ludicrous trade-off to me but nobody ever claimed Ganz or Katysails had even a hint of a brain. I kinda feel sorry for both of them - so stupid, so pitiful . . . CN |

Feel free to cause some chaos, tho. At least it *might* be witty, unlike the current poor lot. Good to see you back.. hope the trip was good. Lost nothing, broke nothing, recovered 8 deep sea mooring strings we'd deployed on the plateau 2 years ago, did every sampling station except one where there was about 2 megatonnes of ice on top, pulled the summerers out & got back early. Doesn't get much better than that. Heard from a buddy of mine who is an Outfitter... some American guy called and asked if it was legal to hunt Penguins in Kugluktuk.... Canadian Arctic!!!! Ha Ha Ha!! Hunting penguins anyway - roflmao. What you do is, sit down and wait. The penguins walk up to you to see what's going on. Then, as an intelligent person, you can start talking to them. I've had some very entertaining conversations with Emperor pengies, tho Adelies are a bit scatterbrained to stay on topic for long. Nobody *hunts* penguins. Idiots slaughter penguins, but hunting implies some modicum of effort or skill. Started work here so I'm busy... checked the mail and found out than Ganz had snapped and filed an abuse claim. Stir up the Hornets all you want..... the more you poke them... the harder they sting. :-) This lot have had their stingers reversed. Same crowd of losers as last time. Peter Ross, Gawwy Burnore et al. Been there, done that. As Heinlein once said, they think they're wits but they're only half right. Don't work too hard & drop me a line if you're coming this way. I have a case of Inner Circle 75% OP in stock. PDW |

I have the good sense not to refer to my present 27' Camper and Nicholson design as a "blue-water yacht." Speaking for myself I'd rather do it in the Swan. Been working up data & sailing my toy boat since then. Ship is back tomorrow from the last voyage and next week I'm off to dry dock for 2 weeks. Always fun seeing if there are any more big dents in the hull :-) Icebreakers are really the only class of ship where running into stuff is compulsory. PDW |

I have the good sense not to refer to my
present 27' Camper and Nicholson design as a "blue-water yacht." Good. That phrase always reminds me of Ti-D-Bowl ads. Martin Baxter said: Oh I don't know about that Dave, when I bought my CS27 I met a guy who just returned from his third circumnavigation, (in a 57' Swan no less), He told me he had run into quite a few CS27s all around the world and that it was not unusual to make lengthy ocean passages in them. Speaking for myself I'd rather do it in the Swan. If you'd asked nicely, maybe he'd have invited you ![]() It's true that you see all kinds of boats anchored in unlikely places. Some of them will obviously never sail home again; others you wonder what the story is. Once while poking around Central America on Uncle Sam's dime, I saw a Venture 222 anchored proudly among the knocked-together fishing skiffs in a remote Honduran village. It belonged to a gringo who had sailed there and was helping a scientist doing field studies of tropical birds. Dave wrote: At least one review did indicate that the boat has "some offshore capabilities." I'd say that in it's class, the CS-27 is a better passagemaker and sounder offshore boat than most. It's got pretty good numbers and is a well built boat. OTOH just yesterday I was reading about a guy who circumnavigated in a Catalina 27. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
