Looks like I picked the right week to hit the road.

Let's see, what did I miss? I wonder if Ganzy is still gay? I wonder if
Neal has actually gone sailing yet? I wonder if the lovely katysails and LP
are done with their cat fight yet? I wonder if peeps have stopped cross
posting yet? I wonder if Ganzy has stopped posting peoples real email addys
(without spam busters) in the hopes that a spider will pick up the address
and fill their inbox with spam? I wonder if Ole Thom has stopped drinking?

Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope.

On the bright side, I got to be involved in some really good shows. Opened
for some national acts, met some good folks.

I have played a few arenas, but mostly smaller venues, I've seen just about
every bar in the country, and lots of theatres, festivals, etc. Do Holiday
Inn's even have lounges? I can honestly say I have not been in a hotel
lounge to see a musical act since about 10 years ago while touring through
Houston I saw a little girl by the name of Leanne Rimes (sp?). She blew me
away, but I guess I am not the only one, as she had already recorded her
first album and was waiting it's release.

Have you ever played the Commack Arena?

The Little Bear?

Did you ever meet Commander Cody?

None of that rings a bell, sir.

I played a national radio show today. And no, I won't say which one.

Oops. I didn't mean it that way! I play with regional bands. Some have
recordings that they are trying to distribute nationally, but I can't call
them national acts. I do get to work with people from nationals, during
recording etc, and I get to open for them quite often also. Not always a
good experience, btw. A friend of mine's band toured with and opened for
KISS during a European leg of their tour a few years ago, and you would
think it would be really cool, but it really wasn't for them. Sometimes
crowds are cruel. Obviously they are not usually there to see the opening
acts.

that sucks, man.
from what I've heard some of these small bands actually don't get paid to be
the opening act on a big tour either. of course one can understand the
audience being impatient to see the big band they've come to see, but IMHO
they should at least give the support band a chance and listen.

ignore them. As I'm sure you'll see, they're most intelligent response
is to yell nasty names. Other than that, they have nothing.
