Sleeping on watch

Just curious, Who here has slept on the wheel/tiller watch?

Was it planned sleep?

Joe

JG February 8th 05 10:54 PM

For all of my offshore, night passages, we had at least two people on deck
at any given time. I can't say for certain the other person was awake, since
I or he were either on the helm or forward for watch keeping, but I'm fairly
certain. I never slept on any of my watches.

Yeah.. I have....

Was it planned sleep?

Naw.. I wasn't planning it but I just got hammered on this rum and passed
out! You should have seen the crew's face when we went up on that
whale-back shoal! Ha Ha Ha ha.... they were scampering around the deck and I
was laughing so hard! No other boats on that lake in September... was I
keeping a proper look-out?.... Bite Me!

Neal sleeps on watch all the time. Of course, his boat never leaves the
mooring, so it's not a big deal that he's violating the rules.

I have snoozed while on watch but not at the helm.
We were 3 handed, one below sleeping and two on deck at all times.
I'd finished a 2 hour stint on the tiller and was 2nd man in the
cockpit for the next 2 hours, wee small hours.
5th day at sea in never less than 30kts in a 32' trimaran.
It was expected that you snoozed when you could, but stayed within
kicking distance of the helm.

Oz1...of the 3 twins.

I welcome you to crackerbox palace,We've been expecting you.

I slept on my Timex once or twice.

It's still ticking...

Horvath, why do you continue to insult your self with statements like this?
It is fairly obvious that you're stupid, but to continually remind us really
doesn't seem worth it.

Like what? You admitting to gay sex doesn't insult me.

What does this have to do with you admitting to gay sex?
