Hey Bobspirt

We are planning on being in NYC April 15-18 th.

Whats happening in NYC that time of year?
We want to enjoy the stay, Money's no object...what should we do
besides visit ground zero and paying our respects?

And another question Bob: I haven't been to Ground Zero, or on Wall Street.
But, isn't Wall St close to the GZ and would it have been easy to see the
Twin Towers from Wall Street?
Reason I ask is, I'm working on a creative response to Melville's *Bartleby,
the Scrivener - A Story of Wall-Street* and I'd like to pursue the notion
that Bartleby shut down and stared out his Wall St window because of a
disturbing vision he saw there, a premonition of mayhem - death and
destruction in the sky and on the street.
Some local info would be helpful.
TIA, Scout

What, great food is a bunch of liberal crap which sailors should eschew?

If art is also liberal crap, then why did you take the advice of an artist
when choosing the colour for your boat's name decals (blue on yellow = high
contrast of complementary colours)? Mind you, I can see that you don't take
this to extremes, what with the girly-pink PVC seat covers...

It's MAUVE and not girly pink. Mauve is a manly color being a shade of purple.

"Art" is the very height of liberalism. It is a total perception thing and the
liberals have defined it as dance, painting, music, etc. all of which are
a waste of time. Rather than do something themselves, liberals would rather
look at or listen to something some other fool has done and rave about it.

That's one of the sicker things you've ever said...art has nothing to do
with liberalism except for the fact that there are liberal artists as well
as conservative...You think Norman Rockwell and Grandma Moses were liberals?
Once again, you show how little you know of the world from being isolated in

It is well known that "the arts" are dominated by liberal thinking people.

That's what art is all about. It represents an escape from reality, a diversion,
a sham. It is like dreaming while one is awake. It is pie-in-the-sky. It is
unnecessary and craven. Real conservatives don't appreciate 'art'. On the
contrary, real conservatives, think art is a waste of productive time.

I have a oil painting by grandma moses son.. He was a liberal to say

I disagree with Neal..... real conservatives invest in art, it always
out preforms the market.

It is a true pleasure to see a John Singer Sargent water color.
J. Sargent could not have been more productive and contributed more to
the people of earth by doing anything else.

Hey Nutsy,

Is the Circle Tour Boat still running? From GZ it's just a step to the
Statue of Liberty Ferry, The Marine center on the East Side. Are the
Good Restaurants still in the German Section of Manhattan? How about a
quite afternoon in the "Cloisters.."( Is it still opened to the public)
In April its BASEBALL SEASON Yankee Stadium. Tavern-on-the-Green for
Steak Diana
How about a Mugging at Columbus Circle
