Default Don't Shake hands with Capt. Poop

On the Phew-EE II.

He's a nice guy but you never know whats on thoses purple gloves he
sports.

Anyone else have to deal with a pumpoff boat?
What do they charge you? Here it is 25 a mo. with a visit every other
week as long as you keep it under 50 gallons a visit.

Nope. Our marina has two pump out stations that are free to use.

AFAIK, everyone in these parts charges $5 per pump out, no limit on the
amount you can pump. DIY at my marina, others have the attendant at the gas
dock do it for you.

The pumpouts in Boston are generally free for marina members. Further
east folks don't worry much, given that there are 10 foot tides and easy
access to open water. I'm sure

Most of the places I visit to the south (Vineyard Haven, Edgartown, etc)
have free pumpouts.

On our recent ICW trip south I was appalled at the number of "broken"
pumpouts - it was the rule, not the exception. When every pumpout in a
town is "out of order" or "the person who runs it isn't in today" you
get the feeling the locals don't care if they live in a sewer.

To the best of my knowledge, pumpout services are paid for out of state
funding in MA. Any public pumpout service that charges is double-dipping.

A tip to the operator is appropriate.
