It rises above the horizon once per year (Spring equinox), and falls below
the horizon once per year (Autumnal equinox).

Still wincing from that great beating, heh?

Which horizon are you talking about? The optical or geometric?

Amen!

Twice a year.

CM,

Sun never rises or fall at the horizon. NEVER!

How can that be?

The Earth is tilted on its axis enough for the sun to shine around the clock in
the summer and not at all in the winter at the north pole

About 100 times each century.

Crapton,

The question should maybe re-worded
The sun shine on the Earth in a constant fashion. No change ever. ( The
exception being Bob C's Bible, with the Earth being the center and the
sun, moon and stars being out in Earth sky to rise and fall)

I'm sure you know the Sun shines constantly and it is the Earth's
horizons that moves. The Sun never, ever rises all falls. That is only a
figure of speech and wrong.
