You're switching careers? My recollection is that it's an entry level cert.

I'm sure someone in India can earn that credential just fine and work for
much less.

It's like A+ but with IP thrown in. It's usually something that someone

who
knows nothing yearns for so they can put it on a resume that contains no

actual
achievements in the field. What these yokels don't realize is that people

who
have hired a lot of techs know that these certs on a resume mean the

applicant
is without any meaningful experience. I took a bunch of these tests many

years
ago just to see what was on them. I sure wouldn't hire anybody who listed

them
on their resume. It's a negative

Too bad. I don't have a resume. I don't need a job. I'm a retired
military officer.

I haven't used the Internet for voice calls in several years. It wasn't all
that impressive back then. I'm assuming the higher speeds have helped since?
The compression made for too much distortion and the experience was not
close enough to a real phone at the time.

I think it's getting much better. Yesterday I was talking to a friend in
Ensenada, Mexico and wouldn't have known he was on VOIP if he hadn't told
me.
