Rules of the road question 48
Your in a sailboat east bound on the ICW and have only sail power.
Your meeting a tug pushing a 200 ft loaded barge that is west bound right at a bridge. It looks to tight to pass under the bridge. Who has the right of way? Joe |
What's the problem exactly? If you think he's about to collide with the
bridge you sound the danger signal. Cheers wrote: Your in a sailboat east bound on the ICW and have only sail power. Your meeting a tug pushing a 200 ft loaded barge that is west bound right at a bridge. It looks to tight to pass under the bridge. Who has the right of way? Joe |
The tug boat is the stand-on vessel.
Rule 9 (b) A vessel of less than 20 meters in length or a sailing vessel shall not impede the passage of a vessel which can safely navigate only within a narrow channel or fairway. wrote in message oups.com... Tug and Barge and you are on the Gulf Coast probably in the Mississippi
Delta Area, since a sailboat under sail is involved on one of the ICW canals leading from someplace like Pontchartrain to or from the Gulf. The bridge in mind is most likely one crossing said canal system on Int. 510/LA47/Paris Road. Or someplace similar. wrote in message oups.com...
