or anything else. They bluster about it and BS but really don't improve or master anything they touch. Some find sailing philosophy so difficult to comprehend they may revert to motor boats and wander around calm water while polluting the earth with their foul fumes. Other people may brag about their expertise in sail trim and sailing without the feeling or passion it takes to be a real sailor. You can spot the latter for they always post pictures with glaring sail trim errors and the like. Cheers Capt. While I can see you might think I was referring to Doug and his smelly power boat, I was thinking about how many 'sailors' get power boats when they reach the age of maturity and can afford them. In Doug's case it is a shame he did not buy a big yacht instead of a power boat but there you have it. Did you know that he claimed to have sailed a 40' boat single handed and taken the spinnaker down to windward without it getting wet? With such skills I wonder why he would not want a really fast cruiser racer like mine -it's much faster and quieter than his power boat -even under power!
