Default Google's Keyhole

Google's Keyhole software is pretty cool.
7 day free trial.
Type in an address and it flies to it. Zooms in close enough that I could
see my vehicles. Some neat features too.

Damn shame. Terraserver used to have some pretty good features for free, now
it's a paid site.

Why would I want to pay thirty bucks? There's already a couple of free sites
that do the same thing.

Did you try it?
I've tried some of the others (e.g., Terraserver); this has some different
features that make it a better product.
I didn't pay 30 bucks either, I may have mentioned in the OP that it's FREE
for 7 days.
BTW Sailloco, if you're going to take the time to make a negative comment on
a product you probably haven't tried, why not do the generous, thoughtful,
decent thing, and say what and where these other wonderful products are?

Curse you Scout ... I just spent hours (and $30) flying around the world.

That's the neatest software I've seen in a long time! It helps that
they have most of my home state (MA) at 1/2 meter resolution, and the
city I lived in half my life (Cambridge) at the highest res in their
database: 3 inches.

Here's a pic from it of the lock in the Shinnecock Canal:

Damn, that reminds me - mow I have to check out the Waterford Flight on
the Erie Canal ...

I have no desire to take a virtual voyage. I'd rather
sail, walk or ride a bike and see things up close and
personal.

Those who rave about the software are confirming
the fact that they are pretend sailors and armchair
sailors.

Shame on you.

The world is a lot bigger than the horizon from your tiny boat. You go
out for 10 months but don't get more than a few hundred miles from home.
Some of us do more sailing in a 3 week vacation than you do in a year!

Actually, that program has poor resolution in most of the places you
would sail. It is mainly for people who still have contact with the
real world; it would be of no interest to you.
