Good to see you've followed my original advice and now have two very high
quality cameras.

It's good to have several video cameras too. Have you thought about giving
your home entertainment system to your son and getting a newer, better one
for yourself?

I feel your pain. The Nikon 8800 retails for less than $900.

Actually, with the really high cost of the Canon with it's two lenses, I'm
thinking of keeping the 8800 for a "boat" camera. I now need to replace my
little Sony U30 with something equally compact, but with higher res.

Very funny! I actually plan to screen media carefully for him. Suzanne and I
are both readers and would like him to avoid the TV addiction for as long as
possible. When the time is right he'll watch Jason and the Argonauts long
before he sees a Harry Potter movie.
