Had a great day on the bay

Had a great day sailing the Bellingham Bay.

Got the boat ready for winter sailing. Checked out inside steering
station and controls. Got about a 4 hour run on the engine. Red Dot
heater working like a charm. Let the engine run at a fast idle an in
gear to get enough load to make the Red Dot warm the Pilothouse.

Sailed with 150 head sail only. Let my new crew learn all about it.
Blowing about 12 knts. We were making 51/2 to 6 knts with less than 15
degrees heel. Just rolling the head in and out like a window shade. I've
got a head sail furler convert.

A weather front moved in on us but we saw it coming and beat it into the
Harbor. Just got the mainsail cover on when the rain hit

Took pictures of the new furler but left the camera on the boat.

Nothing like Scotty's adventure but a nice day on the water. A nice
shakedown for the cold weather sailing inside the Pilothouse.

Sounds good, Thom. Coffee & rum, too?

It's been cool and rainy here. Soon time for the dreaded haulout.
Been painting around the house. Part of my restitution for my 2 week
'vacation'.

Here we are still using the AC's at full speed in the wheelhouse Thom.
It's been in the mid 90's all week. It will be nice when fall arrives.

Sounds like a nice NW day Ol thom. Someday I would love to make it to
Wash state and spend a few weeks. Long term I would get sick of the
rain and cold.

Glad you enjoyed your weekend.
