I saw that poll earlier today. One of the most interesting things
reported was the question about whether Bush deserves to be reelected.
51-No, 45-Yes. Sadly, this campaign seems to have two candidates that
very few people are really excited about. People will be either
voting against Bush or against Kerry. While I will be in the "voting
against Bush group", I have to say that Kerry really hasn't run much
of a campaign. He seems to be sitting back and waiting for Bush to
implode, which is hardly the most inspiring reason to go to the polls.
For those of us who don't live in the relatively few "battleground"
states, it is almost as if the campaigns don't exist at all. The
candidates make no effort that we can see and the pitiful news media
seems to be chasing their collective tails rather than doing their
jobs.

All in all, a sad state of affairs and it is rather irritating that
the election seems to hinge on a very few relatively small groups in a
relatively few states. Ellian Gonzales gave Bush the Presidency last
time, but the Cubans in Florida may screw Bush this time. Crazy times
we live in.
