SAIL LOCO September 10th 04 11:35 PM

Sailboats what would you change.

Loco's boat is pretty fast for it's day, but like the J30 and other go-fast
designs of it's day it has aged badly. More moderate designs, such as my C&C
32, Cals, Pearson's and even Catalina have stood the test of time far better.
They were far more dual purpose than the failed Express 30. So in that respect,
the Express 30 is a pig. Not a very good cruiser and a badly outdated racer.

You should get out more. Your opinions are really the thoughts of an idiot
that knows nothing about boats. I'm sorry I have to keep telling you that.
My "outdated" Express 30 finished first in PHRF 'B' in the Chesapeake Bay
Lighthouse Classic a few weeks ago ahead of a C&C35 (rates faster than us) who
finished 2nd in a fleet of 15 PHRF 'B' boats in another race the day before.
They were no slouches. And oh, we also FINISHED before 2 'A' boats that
started 5 min. before us. One was your modern C&C 99 and the other was a Shock
35. I'll bet the C&C owner was glad he spent that $130K. We did all that with
a full cruising interior and an oven. Yea, those Express 30s are "outdated
pigs"

I bet he is to! His boat is faster than yours. PHRF racing is BS. Only one
design truly and with some accuracy challenges the skills of a sailor. Oh wait,
give me a handicap and my Subaru is faster than a Diablo!
The C&C 99 is faster. It's also MUCH nicer below for cruising as is my boat.
Try some facts in your next sad defense!

They are badly outdated, yes. They sail well, but my boat also sails well and
has a much nicer cockpit and interior. In short: It's a nicer boat.

Glad you've finally seen the light, although I must say you are very slow on
the
uptake.

Hey, with the right rating I could beat Loco in my Portabote with the sail kit.
Anyone got an oven I can slide aboard? Then I'd have a much better cruiser than
any Express 30!!

As usual you can't read. I stated we finished first. The rating meant
nothing. Hell, the second boat which finished behind us owed us time. Also as
far as finishing before the 2 'A' boats what would the rating have to do with
that numbskull?

LOL...................... I did present facts. Your faster boat started 5
min before us in 'A' class and we finished before him.
I wouldn't say the 99 is MUCH nicer for cruising. Hell, the interior looks
like a kitchen cabinet installer came in and hung cabinets on the "wall"

Tee hee, I just proved your "outdated" bit false. Why not give it up or post
your defination of "outdated" At least it looks like it was made in this
century unlike your ugly stern design.

Meanwhile, the 99 rates 105 and even lower!!!!
Busted again, Loco!!!

Bwahahahaha!

Yeah?.

Yea, your picture even proves what I said. Wood cabinets affixed to white
bulkheads.

Congrats. Does that say more about the skipper or the boat? Both?

2 interior finishes and semi-custom changes can also be ordered according to
the folks at the AC Boat show. I've seen 2 stock interiors, one light, one
dark. The interior is great, roomy and well thought out. In addition buyers can
choose fabric colors from a wide selection.
You lose again, Loco!

Loco asked, so I guess it's important to him. Of course, if Scotty Potti ever
had a choice for interior finishes, he'd look into it as well.
I don't think Loco is a "girl" for asking.

What the hell does that have to do with my comments about cabinets hung on
white bulkheads looking like kitchen cabinets?

The only ones I see are on the cabin walls, not the bulkheads and they are part
of the galley, so they should look like kitchen furniture.

I guess that's why you've spent so much time racing in one-design
classes? Show us some pics of your trophy shelf, Boobles!
