No Oscar for the fat pile of crap
Under Academy rules, documentaries are ineligible for Oscar
consideration if aired on television or the Internet within nine months of their theatrical release. However, the U.S. distributors of Fahrenheit 9/11 said on Tuesday that the telecast will not disqualify the movie from Oscar competition in the feature documentary category. They also said that the 1000's of times it was viewed for free over the internet did not count either. 'The film that was shown on Cuban state-run TV was a gift from Moore to his idol Fidel Castro, and was not supposed to shown on Cuban State run TV ' said a statement issued by Lions Gate Films, IFC Entertainment and the Fellowship Adventure Group. Moore later added "If you can not trust Castro, who can you trust?" Joe |
