Well, I'm off to a week of sailing, finally.
I need to get away from this NG for a while too - the incessant political bickering, the name calling, and the long winded poetic messages that are just copied and pasted from some other author, are far worse than anything Bertie the Bunyip ever did to muck up this newsgroup. Get yourselves lives, offenders. Sailors are supposed to be an interesting lot. Scout |

.....poetic messages that are
just copied and pasted from some other author, ... Jey, it was marine life related, which is more than I can say for the 95% of other posts on this group lately....and it also related to fishing in the ng, which we all know is the primary sport here...Just be thankful the Ozzies and the Europeans haven't launched a political diatribe of their own regarding their own countries politics....I always think it's rather strange that everyone else in the world jumps on the bandwagon during our elections when they have their own to worry about... -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. I'm saying is: mix it up a little. re the politics: arrrgh! Scout "katysails" wrote in message ... ....poetic messages that are just copied and pasted from some other author, ... That's just it - in UK groups there isn't anything like the amount of political drivel that we seem to get in here. To those outside the US, perhaps US politics is even less interesting. I always think it's rather strange that everyone else in the world jumps on the bandwagon during our elections when they have their own to worry about... So far as I can tell, they don't (or their contributions are a very small proportion of the overall political claptrap that gets posted in here). Given that nobody is likely to persuade anyone else to switch sides, the whole excercise of spouting sad, irrelevant pseudo political tripe seems pointless - all they're really doing is stating whether they're republican or democrat, but using vast amounts of peurile verbiage to do so. -- Wally www.artbywally.com www.wally.myby.co.uk |

Thanks Thom,
I had some great sailing on the Delaware yesterday - all the weekend warriors were working. Only problem was that I noticed my bilge filling up rather quickly - found the problem was a cracked pvc fitting on one of the cockpit drain lines (near the hull penetration). I put a temporary patch on it using a hose clamp and piece of gasket material. This let me have a full day of sailing, but I had to pull it out of the water and plan to replace the fittings today. Should be done just in time for the hurricane. What next? Scout "Thom Stewart" wrote in message ... Scout, Hope that storm coming up the coast lets you get some sailing in?? Good Luck! Ole Thom |

I filtered out the posts you have found offending - all that is left is you
complaining. "Scout" wrote in message ... Well, I'm off to a week of sailing, finally. I sailed the River from Tullytown to near Philadelphia (about 20 miles) and
then had to head back due to a cracked drain fitting near the hull. All is well now and if the weather isn't too bad, I'm heading out again today. I'd like to make it through the bay to Cape May (about 125 mi). Scout "Walt" wrote .. . .
