Default Found our new Sailboat

Well, I gave the guy a deposit on the sailboat and in my opinion I have the
ultimate trailerable sailboat (for my likes and needs anyway). I did not
want to post what it was (like I did too soon on that Rienel) until I had
money on it. It is a 80 South Coast 26'a and it is in almost perfect
condition. All core is solid, teak in and out looks like new, standing and
running rigging good, sails good with a new 150, 15 hp long shaft Johnson
with electric start and alternator, 2 anchors 150 rode each, dual axle
trailer with surge brakes and spare tire, deck and bilge dry, deck lights on
spreaders, depth sounder, VHF, nice cushions in and out, curtains etc., two
burner alcohol stove, enclosed head with teak louver door, galley sink, sink
in head, auto pilot and a boat load of stuff all neat and stowed. This boat
has a 1,400 lb fin/bulb keel that retracts with the aid of an electric (and
manual override) winch, 6' 2" headroom. Now this boat is made for comfort
and stability more than speed. Her driving sail is her foresail. I have
sailed on a boat just like this a friend of mine in California has and he
sails it out into the Pacific to Catalina all the time. When the keel lower
down it locks into a wedge and becomes and performs like a fixed keel boat.
There is no keel trunk to cause drag, the bottom is smooth. Well, I just
though I would share my excitement. It looks like I will be selling my two
other sailboats now. Oh, I got the boat for $5000 and since the boat was so
well cared for, I did not haggle at all out of appreciation of all the work
he saved me. It is turn key, just raise her rigging, back her down the ramp
and put her in her new slip. She has never been in salt water either.

Happy Sails,
John
