Sold my boat. Moving to Midland, Texas, in the middle of the Permian Basin,
to become a desert dweller. The gulf is 227 miles away, as the crow flies.

Actually that fine smell has gone the way of square riggers. Oil is too
precious for open pits, leaking pipes, etc. Very different than 30 years
ago.
