While sailing up stream (current) 'throw' one anchor out, sail to the point
where you want the other anchor set, lower it, set it and drift back to
where you want to sit (in the middle of the two anchors).

Nope. I learned it from another sailor who was doing it. At the time I
didn't know what it was called, or if it even had a name. I asked a
few other sailors about the technique when I got home, and some of
them recognized what I was talking about.

You should have asked him where he saw it and why it was used. Story sounds
fishy, like a lot of things from BB.
