I haven't named the boat. Thinking of: Fly Away; Renaissance; Pegasus;
Flying Dutchman; Moon Walker.

We were out sailing Saturday afternoon, from 12 - 4.

We like the boat.- It's comfortable, roomy, and fast enough to be fun if
properly rigged and tuned (although the knotmeeter isn't installed yet).
However, because of my job and other issues, I have only been out on it
three times. - We had a series of days with thunderstorm warnings during
June, and now we are having some pretty oppressive heat.

Word of advice: If you wait for ideal, or even "better" weather, you will
seriously compromise your sailing time.

Thunderstorm warnings are not thunderstorms. Where I sail, the forecasts almost
always include a mention of possible thunder every day from June 1st to whenever
they start warning about impending hurricanes. Thunderstorms are usually pretty
easy to spot from a distance, and you can sail around them.

Rain is no problem at all, as anybody who doesn't like water, should not have a
boat anyway. Rain usually means wind, so take advantage of it.

Oppressive heat? If you don't want a bimini, carry umbrellas to shade you. Any
lubber can think of a million reasons not to sail. Sailors always find a way.

BB

Thanks for the advice. This is Houston, TX, i.e., oppressive heat and
humidity for the next month or so. However, I'm expecting to have more
time off from work in a couple of months, and will get out more often.

Yeah great sailing unless you get hit, even more so on a plastic boat

and now we are having some pretty oppressive heat.

It is warm for sure. I had 3 spraycans of expandable foam in my
dockbox.

They exploded yesterday.

Now all my supplies are frozen in foam...........After sunset I plan
to start breaking out the gear ;0( . The thermometer on the east wall
is reading 115 degrees. I told you. You need AC on your boat, after
the gen set ofcourse. That or you have to stick to night sailing, my
favorate!

The dog days are early, and the gulf is aweful warm, plenty of power
waiting to be unleashed. You have a trailor for your boat?

I'm an attorney, and I have a number of cases with deadlines coming due
in the next month or so. If I missed one, it would be pretty sad for
both me and my clients. However, I do expect to get out more frequently
this Fall. (We do have a bimini, and it's a tremendous advantage in this
area.)

the answer is NO.
blew the afternoon off and hung out with 3 girls on board and went sailing
no not bobsprit lesbians (no offense to lesbians, or bobsprit for that
matter--just aint my thing)
my 13 year old and her friends.
(all better sailors than ganz pretends to be)
a great day.

If you have a heart attack tomorrow morning and die, will you think that

your
clients and the income from them were more important than your own family?

Will
you wish you had spent more time at the office? This is a question that

has been
asked and answered countless times. You may not have tomorrow, much less

some
far off, imagined time this fall. Stop now and think hard about it while

you
can. The sun may not come up tomorrrow.
