Donal! Very well done! You've restored The Crimson Permanent
Assurance! Are you recruiting crew? Have you obtained letters of
marque from Guernsey?

NO Haggie, you're supposed to be rigging your boat, not the
market. (Make sure it's good brandy, scotch, or rum, and be very
careful if Donal points a filing cabinet in your direction.)

Damn rig woke me up at 5am this morning. Kept wondering if it'd be cheaper
to stay with external halyards (we have most or all of the blocks) rather
than running conduit and dampers internally. We have pinrails and belaying
pins too....

Yes, and you can watch for trouble too.

Just get the dam' thing up, then you can alter to your paranoia's
content while still being able to sail it.

I used to have one just like that donal, but I got tied of waiting on
tug boats every time I wanted to get underway.

I put my radars on the 3 set of spreaders tho. Guess you could not
afford the longer cable huh?

It looks like MacGregor 65, on steriods.

The Macgregor 65, is also known as the cheapest and
cheapest built 65 footer on the planet.

MacGregor claims it is the fastest production cruising
sailboat built (under sail or power), including even the
large cruising catamarans.

And it has won how many Transpacs? ZERO [0]

This from a designer who didn't think to put the galley sink
close to the centerline!

Do you like the cheezy interior? No wood anywhere!
Just drab fabrics, plastic, and stainless steel.

http://www.fastnet-yachts.com/go.pl?...Gregor-Yachts-
65-(1992).htm

From what I hear most people replace all the deck hardware.
I'm not sure why. I would think they'd have to buy that stuff
from one of the major manufacturers.

I'm also told that used boats of this type are worth more than a
new ones because of all the work the previous owners had to do
to make it right.

http://www.boats.com/content/default...ontentid=10092

On the plus side. The boat uses no core material, and the hull
deck flange is external.
