On Friday June 11,2004 the annual race for the Mills Trophy started in
six to eight foot waves, and 20 knot winds.

Eleven boats were entered in our class, and four dropped before the
race. We were first across the starting line in our class, and second
to the first mark. Our starting time was 19:20.

On the way to the first mark, the wind reached a steady 25 knots,
gusting to 30 kts. We rounded the first mark in second place, but it
was already dark, and we lost sight of the other boats in our class.

We finished the race at 03:13 June 12, 2004. Fourth place. Many
boats dropped from broken equipment, or injuries. We only had one
injury, when a crewman fell out of bed.
