Don't forget to check out the Transit of Venus across the Sun in about 10 hours.
Observers on the US East Coast will be in "mid transit" at sunrise and will have about 2 hours of viewing. (The West Coast loses out this time!) As with an eclipse, don't look directly at the Sun; I'm going to try projecting the image with binoculars. Give it a shot, it doesn't happen often. In fact, its only been observed 5 times before, last time was 1882. The next one is in 2012, but after that we wait over 100 years. http://www.transitofvenus.org/faq.htm |
