Question for the group-transporting sailboat cross country

We are looking for property in Pensacola (hopefully with our own
dock).
We have an Ericson 35 here in Southern California that we would like
to have trucked there since we won't have the time etc. to sail here
through the canal

Anyone have any recommendations or links for boat transport companies?

Thanks!

Best prices last year were across Canada but you can keep it down by going
San Diego to Corpus Christi and sailing the rest or San Diego to Mobile. I
don't recommend Houston, Galveston New Orleans area. Reason is the
profusion and I mean a lot of commercial traffic both on the ICW and off
shore. Oil rigs, tankers, crewboats, fishing boats etc. etc. Water on the
Mississippi Delta is full of silt and goes through impellers like the
Terminator! Corpus you can sail out of the way of the confusion and still
catch the currents.

A lot of the transport companies in the US wanted you to guarantee their
return trip if they couldn't find a load but one or two didn't push that at
all IF you did it at their convenience. In other words when they had
arranged a two way haul.

Somewhere in this machine I have some addresses and email and I'll send
them or post them as soon as I figure out where I filed the silly things.

For a 31' boat at last years prices, Vancouver to Ontario was $3500 US and
to Lake Superior about $3,000 US. US prices ran at least a thousand more.
This year? Who knows? You can also Google up some places at get uptodate
quotes.

Thanks Michael. The Corpus idea is brilliant. I will get quotes for
the delivery there as well.
