Parris Island
I am truly honored to be chosen to live with the U.S. Marines for a week at
Parris Island. The goal is to involve educators in the process of basic training, to experience some of the rigors first hand, and to incorporate that experience into respective curricula. Being the old fart that I am, I will probably be finishing my first cup of coffee just in time to wake up the boys. I'm sure they'll leave me behind quickly though, as it's been 30 years since I've been in an extreme physical training situation. If any Marines (active or not) are here, I'd love to hear and incorporate your experiences in my report. If anyone here lives in the area, I'd be agreeable to meeting for a cold one. Just email me (or share with the group). Scout |

sorry, I never was at Parris Island. I went through USMC RD SD -- a Hollywood
Marine -- where the better looking recruits were sent. I am truly honored to be chosen to live with the U.S. Marines for a week at Parris Island. I would be willing to provide extreme compensation for decent SOS, and I've heard Marine SOS is the best on the planet. Pathetic Earthlings! No one can save you now! |

you're going to follow them through their actual training?

Scout, I strongly recommend that you not respond to Horass. He's
got tits, but he's not a complete woman. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com "Horvath" wrote in message ... On Sat, 05 Jun 2004 09:59:08 GMT, "Scout" wrote this crap: You lucky ****er. How I envy you. Lots of guys go into boot camp out of shape. If they are in their 4th week of training, you are going to be in a "World of Hurt". :o) Mark E. Williams (Hint: Don't leave your footlocker unlocked!!) |

Speaking of "can't" sitting down, I rode my 1100 around the Poconos for a
few days last month. I brought along a small tent, sleeping bag, coffee, lp burner and lamp, cigars, and some Vonnegut (just the essentials). Fantastic - only rained at night, and that put me to sleep. Scout "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... can't sit down? "Scout" wrote in message ... that's even worse!! NICE! I haven't done that for a couple of decades. Used to race at Pocono,
nice area. I did buzz down to the boat one day, sailed a few hours, then buzzed home. Scotty "Scout" wrote in message ...
