I am presently happy with my alpha numeric keypad gps and paper
charts, but I am considering an upgrade to a chart plotter. Any one want to weigh in with pros, cons, recommendations? |

There is nothing wrong with charts and your old unit, BTW. When we take possession of the new boat, we're installing a unit that has radar/GPS/Charplotter, which I feel makes sense against stand-alone units. They are no longer expensive. RB |

Im interested in a "serious "unit. I presently have a Garmin 48
mounted below decks at the nav station, hard wired, but removeable for on deck back up. At the helm I have a Raytheon 298(?) alpha-numeric hardwired and tied into the autopilot. As a single hander,I personally find the YEOMAN plotter, which utilises paper

You get the best of both worlds! Regards Donal -- |
