Wow, is it WINDY!

And I'm not talking about the Jim Cate threads. Went out to the boat today
and did some small things (mostly wanted to retireve a har and some sandlas
I'd left aboard that I want to take south with me)...It was 86F and blowing
30-40 mph today. We flew our kite for a while...my new toy...flying a
double-handed kite that does acrobatics is much more difficult than flying
the old single string type. Walked around the boatyard and spied a very
nice old Tartan (looked to be about 28ft) with a modified full keel...draft
about 3.5 ft.) Anyone know anything about that model? We were looking for
boats that had modified fin or shoal draft with a drop centerboard, but
there was only one in the whole yard and it was almost as butt-ugly as a
Mac...looked like a wallower....If we have to (sniff...) sell Chanteuse, we
also will have to watch mast height since the bridges only clear to 48
ft.....

Could it be the S&S design Tartan 27?

It's good to keep practical limits in mind. And that is an area where
shallow draft is a BIG plus.

If you're interested I have done a lot of research on types of shoal
draft & centerboard boats... email might be better...

Good luck!

Doug, the picture is so dark I can't tell....the boat we saw had teak
