Hey gang. Bobsprit tried to claim the Garmin76
is superior to Standard Horizon Magnum40.

Let me ask you this - those of you who own a
Garmin 76. Can you download for free new
firmware for you unit?

I went to www.standardhorizon.com and download
new firmware for my Magnum to my laptop. I
ran the .exe after connecting computer and GPS
using the included PC cable (serial to proprietary),
used the menu page titled "downloads" and installed
the new software. The GPS now has extra features
not in the original software. It can even be used
as a PDA now.

My Magnum40 is definitely superior to all your
old, outdated and unable-to-be-updated Garmin
76s.
