Frank, Frank... just about everyone calls Horass an idiot.

It's folded steel. Made in Spain. I was describing my sword. Yours is, as I suspected, a cheap knockoff, a step above Chinese stainless, but still... an authentic *Spanish* Samurai sword? Go ahead and do all the touchups you want; you can't harm the value of something which has none to begin with. It's too bad you know nothing about swords. The best ones are made in Spain. whorebath, Your a blooming idiot. Anybody that would collect Toledo swords or a spanish wallhanger like yours as an investment or item of pride has very low standards. The best swords in the world are "were" made in japan. Your Folded steel spanish samari katana is the joke of the century. Just wait and your folded steel blades finish will start flaking off just like on the dragon, after all its just a cheap fake of the real thing embellished for idiots that know nothing. Your jealousy will get you nowhere. You shoulda got the car. You know nothing about swords. Ho! Ho! Ho! Just a coupla comments from me, then I'm done here. Prolonging this would be too cruel. Joe, thanks for jumping in with your comments. If there's anybody who should know about steel... grin Horvath, get your responses organized. That's Joe calling you an idiot, not me; so your response to him is as foolish as it is incorrect. It sounds to me like Joe has a reasonable knowledge of swords and sword-making, unlike you. Did you once read a romance novel which mentioned the superiority of "Toledo steel" and you generalized an entire universe of "knowledge" from that? Spain has produced some wonderful blades. Unlike you, I don't have "lots of swords"; but I do have a few, two of which are Toledo blades. They're beautiful and I love 'em. But they're not nihonto. And neither is your "Spanish folded steel samurai sword," if it even is Spanish. The best of those "Spanish" blades from folks like Marto or CAS-Iberia are actually made by Paul Chen (Hanwei) in Taiwan. That's the best of them; most are thrown together in Chinese prisons or similar unskilled-labor situations. Just FYI. Frank P.S. Actually Paul Chen's best swords are really pretty nice. I know people who use them for tameshigiri (cutting exercises) and they're happy with the bang-for-the-buck they get, having spent less than $2K while everyone else has spent a lot more. Then again, we haven't even brought Damascus into the argument of "best blades." Oh my! And how about... Oh, never mind! |
