Place for year-round liveaboard on a budget?
Any recommendations for a year-round place to moor (US Atlantic Coast or Gulf)
on a budget? Livable in winter and not a steambath in the summer. I'm single, no boat yet, and plan on something 27' to 32', to start with. I'm not ready to go. Just at the daydreaming stage. Thanks. |

Buy a house. Who would want to live on a 27-32 foot boat. You would turn into
a fool like the idiot that posts on hear who lives on a 27 foot derelict. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |

Spend a couple of months in the Bahamas, move on to Turks & Cacios for a
few weeks, then on to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands for a month. From the VI, south to St. Martin, St. Barts, Saba, Nevis, the rest of the Leewards should take a couple of months. Then hop on over to St. Lucia for a few weeks, on to Bequea, then Salt Whistle Bay at Mayreau and a month on the hook in the Tobago Keys. Do the rest of the Windwards to Tobago. Should keep you busy for about 12-18 months. Harald Ås wrote: On 24 Dec 2003 06:04:27 GMT, (SAIL LOCO) wrote: Buy a house. Who would want to live on a 27-32 foot boat. I'm not trying to leave the rat race behind. I just can't afford both rent and
a nice sailboat. I'm just a simple working guy. If I was the religious type, I'd probably be a happy monk somewhere if I could still get the internet and Directv. I've given up on women. More trouble than they're worth.
