It's good news that they caught him, but the violence against our forces is probably going to increase in the short run. "Thom Stewart" wrote in message ... Well Done 4th Inif. Job well done. Well, this isn't their fault. It's Bushy's and Rumy's. They're now taking
credit for something the military did. What lowlifes. "Milos Forman" wrote in message nk.net... Clinton of course, but it's not like he didn't try. Bush tried
too. He invaded a whole country and did no better at catching him. Bush has no right to claim credit for Saddam. All he has a right to do is crow about how he invaded Iraq, when he knew damn well there were no WMDs and no threat to US interests. Saddam was a bad guy, and we probably should have dealt with it, but there was no urgency like what Bush and his cronies proposed. "anonymous" wrote in message ... No I didn't miss it. However, I promise you that he
will spare no expense on his re-election campain championing his "success," all the while forgetting about the lousy planning he and Runny did before they got there. "Joe" wrote in message om... Yes. Actually, it wasn't my plan, it was the one Bush liked
at the beginning... stay out of foreign affairs as much as possible, especially if the other country isn't attacking us or is an iminant threat. Use the political machinery of containment, which while not perfect (e.g., the 100Ks of his own people he was butchering), at least didn't involve reducing our credibility to the point of inviting even more terror. Yes, it was done too soon and without the cooperation
of most of the rest of Europe and Nato. There was no need to further burden our ecomomy, get our soldiers killed, distract from the real war on terrorism that directly affects us and our allies, and create an atmosphere of hate around the world. Maybe we should have focused on solving the N. Korean problem, or the ruination of the environment, or the degradation of civil rights and general conditions in Africa, or fixing what we started in Afganistan??? "anonymous" wrote in message ... They simply refuse to believe the level of meddling that the US
government is guilty of. Perhaps they would like to consider stopping their history rewrites and learn some facts in school -like how many innocent children and women the US bombs have killed and maimed in the last 24 months? When the US shows some level of attrition (rather than calling them acceptable collateral damage) the likelihood of new terrorism will be reduced. Facts! U.S. officials loudly denounce Hussein's crimes, and the U.S. media obediently takes up this theme. But there is one fact that people will not hear from the mouths of Bush, Rumsfeld, and other U.S. spokesmen--it was the U.S. itself that was behind the rise to power of Hussein's Ba'ath Party and that backed its brutal rule for many years."
