Does anyone here use CB radios on their boats?
No why? I did just buy a pair of FR to take to the islands for 2 way between boat and tender. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |

Well your portable VHF is not leagl on shore, so a CB would make sense to
communicate with crewmembers on shore. "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... For when he gets lonely at night, he can talk to the truckers on I 95. "SAIL LOCO" wrote in message ... FRS works just fine for most situations. When greater range is needed, we use
our cell phones. Cell phones work great, we've tried AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Verizon is the best so far, but we still lose signal plenty of times. Anyway...probably won't bother with CBs...just wondering.. RB |

Bought one once. Turned it on. Half an hour later removed it from use.
Somehow umpteen channels of constant !@#$%^&expletive deleted and inane redneck wannabe slanguage was not my cup of tea. Comes from having an IQ above 10 I reckon fershurefershure. Who said, "We are a people separated by a common language?" CB'ers are the one group who fail to qualify for membership. Get one BS I think you will fit in quite well actually. MST |
