I heard on the radio that there's lots of blizzard type weather
up north. Traffic jams, delayed flights at airports, wrecks etc. Not only that but an early outbreak of influenza. Bwahahahahahhahahhaahha! You idiots who live up there deserve the rotten weather. If you were smart you'd pack up your belongings, throw them in the back of your Suburbans and head south where most of the real sailors have relocated years ago precisely to get away from the months of crap weather that plagues your daily existence. It was in the seventies today with a very nice breeze. The water temperature is in the mid-seventies. I went sailing for a couple of hours this afternoon just to show off my new sails. Trouble is I'm so fast now that other boats lose sight of me in short order as I quickly leave 'em all hull down. Do any of you remember one ed augustajtis who used to post here a couple years ago? Well, he e-mailed and told me he bought a Coronado 27 and is very pleased with it. He even said it is fast and he won a cup at some race where other boats of any size could not keep up. Here's ed's own words: My boat, "Sundown" has her name on the back as well as the sides, in the same location as yours only higher. Sundown is feared in the regatta community in the coastal waters of South Carolina, as well. This past season, she was the only boat with the potential to finish the Jean Ribout cup. None of the other boats, no matter the size, could beat to windward against the 2.5 knott current in the Port Royal sound. Unfortunatly, while other boats had drifted to Hilton Head, she was about to complete the most difficult first leg, when a protest was issued and the race cancelled. They did award Sundown a cup, however. So all you wannabes had best get a real life and a real boat before you end your wretched lives frozen in place. S.Simon |
