How have librarians been silenced? They, and their union
representatives have been exceptionally vocal lately--repeating a lot
of things that just aren't true. You wouldn't know it to listen to
them, but the number of library records checked by the Feds since the
Patriot Act passed (by a landslide in Congress): Exactly zero. No
library records have been checked as yet. To vehemently dislike a piece
of legislation, that passed through both Houses of Congress and was
signed by the President, is not the same thing as being silenced.
Sadly, America's librarians tend to be left-wing anti-conservative
trade unionists first, and contemplative observers second.

They are prevented from telling people when Asscroft invades
their customers' privacy by snooping into their reading habits.

Ganz, you've been reading way too much of that
conspiracy theory crap. Your thoughts were never
the most clear and lately you sound like somebody
who stays up nights listening to Noore and Bell.

Maybe you need to go sailing more to clear your
mind of such mindless paranoia?

It is a fact that they are barred from discussion these
searches by the so-called Patriot Act.

But, you're right. I do need to go sailing. Probably
tomorrow.
