We have at least 5 in my marina, ironic considering you only have to motor
about 500' or so before you can put up the sails. I have seen them putzing about under sail, have even seen one under full power heading directly upwind, quite a sight.I even have photographic evidence that they do sail. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...43355546oSuBZF And I have only seen one in the "full power" mode. John Cairns "SkitchNYC" wrote in message ... The only review of the Mac26X that appeared in a magazine that could be characterized as unbiased was the one that ran in "Practical Sailor", you have to wonder what they were trying to say, they didn't actually sail the boat. Who does? Who here has seen a Mac26X motoring along? Plenty Who has seen one sailing? None |

Someone posted a link to an owner's Mac page, he loved his boat and thought
it sailed pretty well, but then he made the statement that "he hadn't sailed any other boats" so he nothing to compare it to. I don't hate Macs, I do feel a little sorry for the folks that spend 25k for something like this mainly because they don't feel confident enough to buy a used boat for their first sailboat. One is used to power upwind in the mornings when breeze is lightish
and sails home of an afternoon reaching and running at a very respectable pace. I believe the owner is using the boat as it was intended. So what you're saying is that they're little more than a river barge. --=20 katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. There's always a reason. It's the nature of things.
