Even if he had his best ratings ever, he'd still pale to Howard Stern who beats
Rush in every market.
It was just a matter of time until Rush exposed himself.

You're wrong about Howard Stern who is a has-been.

Rush has the largest listening audience of any radio
broadcaster and most television broadcasters for
that matter.

Rush's program is the most listened to broadcast
in radio history by a large margin.

Holy cow.
Stern is #1 in every market he enters. He holds the record to market rise in
new markets. He beats Limbuagh in every ratings race and his syndicated show is
rated #1 for cable.
But I'll play fair. Stern's LONG show gives him a huge ratings advantage over
most shows.
The best thing about Stern is that he doesn't over-market himself. No Stern
mugs or T-Shirts from him and no cameos in movies. His classless act hides a
lot of class.

Is he now clean and sober? Maybe he and Bill Bennet should
have a show together. You could call it, "I was a drug addict,
but I never gambled away millions and I don't smoke."

That is a bit unfair....to drug addicts:) It might be somwhat
entertaining to listen to him to see how he manages to blame his
current problems on the Clintons, but I am afraid if I had to listen
to Rush I would desperately be looking for a pharmaceutical escape
myself. I am not that masochistic.

Perhaps he and Bushy should join a recovering addition
program together.

I wonder if he has changed his position on mandatory jail time for
drug offenses? Do you think he will plead guilty and have his bag
packed, ready to pay his debt to society?jk

Perhaps his defense will be that they weren't his drugs...they were
"on loan from God", along with his "talent".

I can only hope that Rush comes out and says he favors the legalization of
all drugs.
He was as high as a kite (about 90 pills a day - not for pain mind you, but
for the high) and garnered the largest audience in radio history. His highly
medicated state in no way detracted from his consistent
libertarian-conservative message. His only mis-step was not to extend the
proper ownership of one's being to the rightful owner - the person himself.
I pray he attacks the war on drugs and continues beating the drum against
the Bush administration's unwise spendthrift ways.

Music legend fades to black: Johnny Cash, legendary ‘Man in Black’ dies
at 71
9/12/03

excerpt:
- ----------
he battled addiction to pills on and off and received a suspended jail
sentence in 1965 on a misdemeanor narcotics charge in Texas.
He blamed fame for his vulnerability to drug addiction.
"When I was a kid, I always knew I'd sing on the radio someday.
I never thought about fame until it started happening to me," he said
in 1988. "Then it was hard to handle. That's why I turned to pills."
He credited June Carter Cash, whom he married in 1968, with
helping him stay off drugs, though he had several relapses over the
years and was treated at the Betty Ford Center in California in 1984.
- ---------

I guess Rush Limbaugh is the Johnny Cash of conservative pedagogy.
Don't you think? Didn't hurt Cash's career either.

Exceeept, that Cash did not promote the exact opposite of
his free-wheeling lifestyle. If anyone asked him about it, he
was honest and upfront. Limburger was dishonest until he
was caught.
