ETA for Mooron
A lot depends on the type of ship.
Is this a Car carrier, container, or breakbulk ship? Speeds could vary, anywhere from 16 - 26 k Is it making any stops prior to Halifax? What Shen gave you is probably a good starting point, and as he said, check the port web site, if they give ETA's otn |
ETA for Mooron
Didn't find ETA's just current ships in port and their locations. I'll keep
an eye out for the ship. I don't have any idea as to it's scheduled stops. I don't know what type of ship it is either... but the cargo is a 29 Bayfield sailboat on a cradle. I'm arranging for it's transportation on arrival to storage for a buddy of mine. It's called the Argonau and is sailing Saturday Nov. 8th from Lisbon. Ill check again on the 15th. Thanx for the info... now I just hope to gawd they keep the bridge manned this trip. Let's face it... if they lose the sail boat like they do containers... this one at least will float as opposed to becoming a hazard to navigation! :-) CM "otnmbrd" wrote in message nk.net... | A lot depends on the type of ship. | Is this a Car carrier, container, or breakbulk ship? | Speeds could vary, anywhere from 16 - 26 k | Is it making any stops prior to Halifax? | | What Shen gave you is probably a good starting point, and as he said, | check the port web site, if they give ETA's | | otn | |

For a Master you sure act ignorant sometimes.
The whereabouts of all ships is known to the mile, and hour. They are all in contact via electronic means. It's not like they leave port and nobody knows where they are until they show up in another port as was often the case in the age of sail. Why not contact the freight company and get some valid position reports instead of speculating? S.Simon S.Simon "otnmbrd" wrote in message nk.net... A lot depends on the type of ship. Bwahahahahahahahaaa.... You're friggin kiddin' me right??!!!
There's over a hundred shipping lines here. Who handles the boat? Where is it registered? Get a grip! If you don't have the shipping documents it's a best guess. I suppose when you ship FedEx or UPS you ask the mailman

Well Duh!!! Of Course! But then I have a weighbill number and can track it.
Try to think things through Simon... act don't react. You are without doubt colour blind throughout the entire spectrum. Do you have trouble with flashing reds & greens? My color vision is normal, thank you. Some people need to take a simple lamp test to pass the color vision test the Coast Guard requires for their licenses but I can see the right colors in those dot pictures. I'm perfect. S.Simon "Capt. Recheck the spelling of the ship name, I couldn't find it in Lloyds
register. Next step, ask your friend for the name of the agent (he should have it) and contact them for updates. One other possibility, is to check with Customs, as they will have to handle the boat, as well as the ship. At one time I had a tracer program, but can't find it ...also, if you can find the owner/operator of the ship, check for a web page which might list their ship positions. otn Capt. Info I don't currently have but would have already checked if so.

G We're not there yet, Neal, although AIS should help close that gap.
Most ships, still work under a 24hr reporting schedule, until they get within 48hrs or are queried by agents.
