So the guy posts a picture of s split seam on a cushion in the =
v-berth...Just how hard is it to whip stitch a seam together to make =
your picture right? Makes one wonder what needs some TLC means if =
something so simple hasn't been seen to.

Heh... you can't beat the price. It's nothing to write home about and looks
a little cramped inside. Why do you ask? If it fits your projected use and
budget.... a survey would give you better info than anyone here.

Well, I'm not going to pay for a survey for a thirty-five hundred
dollar boat. I figure I can sail her on the river for a few years
while I help my kid through college, and then move up to a real boat.

Surveys don't cost that much.... it might highlight some areas of concern
that you could address at your leisure later on. You don't have to tie the
survey to the sale. Hell .... if you get a good survey it could increase the
value of the vessel for insurance purposes.

Depends on what you want it for. It's a Wm
Crealock design though, so it's basically a good
boat. Personally I don't like extreme raked bows,
it makes the boat smaller than it's LOA (or longer
for a given sailing length & capacity) so you're
paying extra dockage. Looks ragged out.

BTW while I agree about surveying a $3500 boat,
before ruling out a survey I'd at least find out
what one costs. It could actually save you money
and if you need for insurance anyway....

Ericson 29? If a month goes by and no offers, the
owner/seller may think pretty hard about letting
you have it for a low enough price to make it
interesting.

bent boom (heh), or some other big part, then I'll keep looking. If
it means sewing up that v berth cushion and spending a few hours with
some cleaning supplies, I might be up for it. The cabin top looks
like it might be a lift top, like a Santana(sp?), which I don't think
I'd like so much.

It's a thought. He jumped all over nine grand. Wonder what he'd do

I was just bench sailing, but got interested because of the price. I
have to keep reminding myself that everything looks better on the
internet than it does in real life.

That's one slow boat, the Clipper Marine 26. It drags
a big fat transom in the water like a motorboat. It has
a Mac26X type interior - cheap, tawdry and inferior.

Buy a Coronado 27 - you won't be sorry.

If it's a custom bent boom with a reinforcing pipe inside, it will double
the resale value.

My 26' had a 'pop top' and I liked it.
