new boat surveyed for the bank but do have to have a used boat surveyed?

A fellow bought a new Beneteau 39 at my yard. He had to have it surveyed for
insurance.

BoatUS and Chubb (among other insurers) will and routinely do insure a
new Beneteau (and, for that matter, most other good-quality new boats)
without a survey
