This group is obviously angry about my superior C&C 32 and outraged that I will
have the 34XL next. Like any child, their only recourse is to complain about
how I play with my toy!
Surely they'd make better use of it!
But how??? I already sail more than most of the people here. I deserve better
and better vessels. I also deserve to pay less than the rest of the world.
Why?
Because I sail and make time for my work.
The rest of you work and make time to sail.
You all have it ass-backwards because sailing is a hobby for you. It's not
truly in your hearts and souls.
There will be an even nicer boat after the C&C 34XL.
Because it's what I deserve.

The rest of you make up one seasick and jealous child.

No Bobby, not all of us are jealous, although some of us do get a bit tired
of your constant put-downs. Everyone should realize the rewards for
striving toward making their dreams become reality. For many of us sailing
is indeed a hobby. There are simply other things in this world that are
more important to us. We don't envy you and are truely happy for your
successes. You should give us the same credit for enjoying our leisure
interest, sailing, while trying to become more successful in the areas we
feel are more important to us.

Sorry Bob, you're wrong on just about all counts. With perhaps a few exceptions, no one
is angry or jealous of your life or your boat. Your 32 may be nice but its hardly
"superior." You keep claiming to sail a lot, but you never leave your little corner of
LIS, nor have you been out for more than one or two nights. Almost everyone here has
sailed longer and further than you. Even the boats you trash the most seem to get used
more than yours. A number of us have been paid to sail for years. Others have taken
extended trips far beyond anything you dream of. And a number of us are retired or taking
time off for sailing and family obligations.

Sorry Bob, no one here is angry or outraged, though most of us are rather embarrassed for
you.

I'm not angry at all. In fact, I feel sorry for you. You've spent
thousands and thousands of dollars, and you still haven't found a boat that
makes you feel contented.

I really hope that your next boat actually fills the enormous gap in your

Well if I had a known you were a Crab Crusher afficonado I wouldn't have
bothered Trollin' Ya so Bad! ;-)

These finicky fin keelers around here drive me nuts with their constant
harpin' on about a 1/10th of a kt here, a tweak there and it's no wonder
they all wait to reach a dock to drink.... I mean how many brews can you
afford to lose overboard at those angles of heel without it impacting your
annual new suit of sails purchase! Talk about anal retentive sailing! They
don't dare take the damned flimsy things into real water and then feel like
everybody wants to hear about every 2 hour sail to nowhere they take.

It sucks... they have every toy on the market they haven't yet figured how
to use any of them. You know Ya just can't trust any of them... if it's not
nailed down and they're nearby, they go "French" on ya and will steal
anything they can walk off with.

If you see a sailboat in trouble... ten to one it's a fin keeler! I've heard
of one going back and forth in front of a clearly marked and lit entrance
to a safe easy harbour at night, under power with radar, GPS, 4 compasses,
cruising guide, chart and tools one could ever require to fix a three
dimensional, pin point, location..... updated every second!.... and was
still totally lost and confused! It's a wonder some of these Fin Keelers
can even get out of bed let alone tie their laces!

Right On Joe....

To answer your question.... I know way more about Overproof than I did when
I first bought her but nowhere near the amount I have yet to learn. Because
I approach it as a learning curve I'm better attuned to my vessel than
anyone else. I know every creak and groan, every shudder and surge.... I can
tell just from the feel of things down below if she's sailing to optimum or
in the groove. I'll wake up at night at anchor and just know from the
movement or sounds what needs to be done to have her set back to a gentle
quiet motion. I know most of what's wrong with the boat and all of what's
right. I know most of what she can do and can't do.

It's the intimate knowledge of my boat that allows it to be greater than the
sum of it's parts. I pity those who float aimlessly from vessel to vessel
never satisfied with any of them.

Sorry Bob, you're wrong on just about all counts. With perhaps a few

exceptions, no one
is angry or jealous of your life or your boat. Your 32 may be nice but

its hardly
"superior." You keep claiming to sail a lot, but you never leave your

little corner of
LIS, nor have you been out for more than one or two nights. Almost

everyone here has
sailed longer and further than you. Even the boats you trash the most

seem to get used
more than yours. A number of us have been paid to sail for years. Others

have taken
extended trips far beyond anything you dream of. And a number of us are

retired or taking
time off for sailing and family obligations.

Sorry Bob, no one here is angry or outraged, though most of us are rather

embarrassed for
you.

This group is obviously angry about my superior C&C 32 and outraged that

I will
have the 34XL next. Like any child, their only recourse is to complain

about
how I play with my toy!
Surely they'd make better use of it!
But how??? I already sail more than most of the people here. I deserve

better
and better vessels. I also deserve to pay less than the rest of the

world.
Why?
Because I sail and make time for my work.
The rest of you work and make time to sail.
You all have it ass-backwards because sailing is a hobby for you. It's

not
truly in your hearts and souls.
There will be an even nicer boat after the C&C 34XL.
Because it's what I deserve.

The rest of you make up one seasick and jealous child.
