Waterline Antifouling

Okay... so the boat is pulled and on the cradle. I'm looking at waterline
fouling which seems to happen with greater frequency and mulitude in salt
water. It's not the beards of weeds that Cappy is used to towing on his
floating garden of a Coronado... but much more than I'm willing to settle
for. I tried 8 coats of hand rubbed wax from the antifouling line up this
year with 4 layers of triple X antifoul along the first 6 inches down.

I'm thinking of a copper strip just below the bootstipe about 6 inches wide.
They have some very thin ribbons available with adhesive backing. I'm
thinking of giving this a try as a way to stop growth and protect the
waterline from damage.

Any ideas?

CM

Buy a better antifoul and take it over the waterline. I've just had
International hard copper on for 12 months and apart from slime no other
mess. She's not even been water blasted this year! I'm really impressed!
remeber putting any wax on top the the antifoul will stop it working!

Cheers MC

Waterline Antifouling

Yeah okay... I've got a boot stripe in blue and about 3/4" stripe of white
below that to the waterline. Now this works okay at the start of the
season.... with the waterline right at the antifoul.... but after about a
month of equipment, tools and clothes being brought aboard it settles to a
full loaded cruising weight you would find on a passage maker. Then It sinks
to just about the boot stripe and the slime starts in on the whitestripe.
this is what I want to address.
