The draft on the main is too far back. What is the forestay tension
like? If it's saggy you would have been able to tighten the backstay to good effect but with a deck mounted mast I doubt you'll adjust mast bend so easily. You'll have to adjust the relative tension between uppers and lowers. Cheers MC Simple Simon wrote: New sails web page for your viewing pleasure. were hardly even able to shape out. You know nothing! S.Simon "The Captains Nemesis" wrote in message ... Damn that jib's got the draft waaaay out the back door, and overtight leech, and what's with all those woofles in from the leech. The main....well maybe after a few years of wear of some intensive sailing lessons that upper leech may open up. We'll see eh? Oz1...of the 3 twins. I welcome you to crackerbox palace,We've been expecting you. |
FEAST YOUR TIRED EYES
The reef cringles are on sewn on straps. That aint' gonna hold up, Cappy. You
need a real cringle sewn into the sail. |

How come your 100% jib doesn't hoist to the mast head?

The real riot here are the main and jib halyards. 3 strand rope! How do you
maintain luff tension Crappy? The last time I saw 3 strand rope used for any running rigging was in the comedy Summer Vacation. I guess you can't use double braid with Hong Kong Sails. They might explode. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |

Look again big boy. The rope is but a tail as the halyards are
wire/rope combinations. The wire commences only about a foot above the cleat or winch. How much stretch does one foot of rope have anyway. Bwahahahahahhaha! My wire halyards stretch less than your high tech fiber crap! S.Simon "SAIL LOCO" wrote in message ... The real riot here are the main and jib halyards. 3 strand rope! Loco,
You're absolutely correct. My next boat project is all rope halyards. Wire takes permanent sets and are hard wear on wenches OT |
FEAST YOUR TIRED EYES
"hard wear on wenches"
looking forward to what Horvath makes of that one. |

Best bang for the buck is Ultra Tech by Samson. Technora core. Stay away from Spectra for halyards. Kevlar is out and any of the other new fibers are still high $$$. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |

You need to realize that I don't chase women. Unless they are
intelligent enough to come to me they simply miss out on a good thing. I'm hoping you're smart enough to realize how real sailors carry on.
