I would have thought militant anything would be both an extreme left and
right "philosophy". Both left and right being interchangeable.

to make money and buy nice things, but we also want the welfare state

well - this has led to a situation where Irish people pay the tax rates

Texas, but demand the social services of Denmark.

Interesting take. Compared to other EU countries, I think, Ireland is,
possibly, an inherently unstable country. By this, I mean it wouldn't
surprise me if the population of the island balloons to over 10 million
by
2050 which will be fuelled by global immigration.

So we are very much still trying to work out what kind of nation we are
geing
to be here. I would say that we will most likly end up either way, as
our
government only indulge in the politics of cowardice

I expect this will remain the case so long as the electorate return
Fianna-Fáil led governments..

The rise of Sinn Fein might introduce a spanner into this idea.

Eventually, the people of Ireland are going to have to take a stand against
SF and their terrorist leaders
