Sounds like you had a great trip from Port Jeff to the Thimbles. This
weekend was 2 days of N/W winds, 15 to 20 kn sustained. Fine weather
on the Lower Bay and the Sound. I did that passage 2 years ago with
winds of 30 kn N/W. What a joy ride! Savor it. You don't get to make a
strong wind passage, portal to portal very often on the Sound.

BTW, the heron you were looking for was a wire sculpture on Danford's
dock, whch would be off your starboard stern quarter in the picture of
you leaving Port Jeff

Oddly enough that photo was introduced as approaching the channel at
Thimble....

No Bob... I didn't get to check to full page as yet to the access taking
longer than what I'm used to ... probably due to Monday morning traffic on
the net. I saw it now and realize what Marc was mentioning. My Fault...

The only one here that
decided it was sufficient material to grope for a dig was you Oz. What are
your motives dude? I thought so!

Hey, Mooron, only YOU keep mentioning "ball licking" around here. Seems to me
the only ball juggling was between you and Billy Jane!
Ozzy never piped up until the pics were posted, which ended any real debate.
Same for Marc, Thom and Scout. You've been otherwise left twisting in the
"moderate" breeze! I have zero interest in gaining anyone's approval here!
That's why you ended up in the mud! Billy is now claiming that the pics were
created by Hugh Hefner cover artists!

Oi, I'm the captains master!

Are you going to demonstrate your prowess at some point?

Is it just me?

Of course it's just you.

Nobody else is so lacking in wit that they would admit to believing Bob's
fantasy trip.

| Ahhh, but such a display would be wasted upon the training squad.

So far it's looking more like a Firing Squad... Blindfold?.. Cigarette?

| Damn, I keep forgetting that bit.
| Hang around, I'll get em for you.

Hah! nice try... but from what I've seen of _your_ firing squad, you seem
to have made certain to enlist the worst shots in the battalion..... and
reversed the standard order to 11 blanks and one cartridge. Forget the blind
fold and get a carton of smokes.... I have a feeling this will take a while.

Bwaaaahahahahhhahahaaaaa!
Donal, I've seen no excerpts from your log nor pictures to confirm
that you have either a yacht nor ability to navigate your way out of
the Solent on a ebb tide.

That only shows that you didn't understand the pictures.

I've posted pictures if Setanta sailing out of the Solent at the Bembridge
end, and I've posted pictures of us coming in at the Needles end. If you
didn't understand them, then that was because you weren't familiar with the
area. I may not be the world's greatest expert (like you are) at sail trim,
but I am a competent navigator.

You may dispute this at your peril.

Cool!
Scary too. Did a short stint with the water police.

I hope my eyes tricked me. But it seemed to be what it seemed to be. Perhaps
it's best that I'll never know for sure. I made an effort to recover it, but it
was barely at the surface and looked away for a sec while coming about.

Hey, just like living in Calcutta an watching the incomplete
cremations flaot past...adds a whole new meaning to "catching a
crab", I suspect. (Now Sydney, of course, makes use of quickset
concrete for neat disposal).
