BTW you should KNOW if that lighthouse is operational.
Check!

Is it? I was pretty sure my cruising guide mentioned it was "out." It does look
somewhat clean and maintained. I couldn't see it from where we were moored.

Responding to yourself?

You don't appear to have a preventer on the main going wing on wing.
Shame.

"Air picking up"? Not only is that unrecognized nautical terminology,
but if it means the wind is picking up, it ain't true. Can't be above
single digits in that photo and Suz's pirate hat is not flying off.

You should treat that wood around the companionway.

Shame.

Air was steady and I'm sharp at the help. Accidental gybes are rare for me.

Pretty funny. This proves that a photo can be very misleading. We actually had
to reef down moments after this pic was taken and the boat was still soaked
during the next two hours.

Running, the apparent wind would be light, but that doesn't
mean it isn't blowing.

We never use a preventer unless we're going to be on extended
downwind leg. Students need to get the feel of what is going on
a preventer interferes with that.

Leave the help alone -you're married.

You're right. But as a certain point during the spring I simply stopped all
work and decided to sail. The wood can wait a bit longer, along with the
pedestal and boom which I will also refinish.
