Hypothesize all you want. It doesn't amount to a hill of beans. We all are aware of your constant naysaying so more of it is nothing new. As for the facts of the jobless rate, the jobless rate was 5.8 percent - only 6/10 of one percent greater when Wm. Clinton was in office for two years and every liberal newspaper was touting how great the economy was at that time. If you are too stupid to recognize biased political rhetoric when you read it that's something you should work on instead of blindly repeating it. What a putz! "Oz1" wrote in message ... " Good luck America, that's all you've got going at the moment! You really should stick to politics or something else where it is easy to pretend you know what you are talking about. Australia's unemployment rate is 6.1%, a meaningless difference, and pundits there are saying it is a "tight" labor market. The US unemployment rate is lower than in just about every major European country. |

That the economy is feeble at best? It's been getting worse for
the entire time Bush has been in office. The trend is down not up. The fact that the economy is growing slowly only says that eventually there will be a turnaround and eventually the employment numbers will improve. Eventually can take a long time. It certainly does negate most of the "good news." Any serious economist will tell you that. "Simple Simon" wrote in message ... So, that doesn't negate the good news. It takes the unemployment figures a little time to catch up. It's not computed every day, you know. "Jonathan Ganz" wrote in message ... The unemployment rate is about 6.5, the highest in 9 years. Exactly what I've been trying to get through their thick skulls. The economy is always good when a Democrat is President because that's the way the liberal media reports it even though it might be in serious trouble. Given the same conditions of unemployment when a Republican is President, the liberal media reports gloom and doom and the worst this and the worse that and don't even give people credit for being able to do the math. Instead of saying the unemployment percentage is higher than any time since the Clinton years, they say it hasn't been that high in nine years which happens to early in Clinton's term of office. Duh. Can you say, "Step on your own dick?" When people become so blinded by rage and hate because their party has lost elections and lost favor with the American people that they no longer understand that most of what they read in newspapers or hear on TV is political rhetoric then it means they are puppets doing the bidding of the politicians. This is sad because a bunch of Democrat puppets is exactly what the Democrat puppet masters (liberal leaders) have been working for all these years. |

What about them? They were a disgrace. In Clinton's
last year in office the economy started into a recession that lasted for three quarters and the Democrats covered it up. Clinton's big tax increases combined with 9-11 and the normal but unpredictable business cycle all combined to create the short recession that Bush inherited and has worked hard to end and has ended. It's onward and upwards from here. You Democrats can attempt to re-write history all you want but you cannot change the time table. "Vito" wrote in message ... What about them?.... What about unemployment #s? You know the subject you brought up (see below) remember? You Democrats .... Democrats? Sorry Simple but I voted Republican in every election since 1960, campaigned for Goldwater and Slippery Dick and was a dues paying member of the GOP for decades. But that may be about to change. Like I said, the only thing lower than a tax-and-spend Democrat is a borrow-and-spend Republican. Morality? Clinton sold military secrets to Red China. Reagan screwed Ford then sold out to Iran to embarass Carter then let Ollie hang out to dry when he diverted some of the ill-gotten $$$ to the Contras, remember? Which is worse, selling military stuff to enemies and screwing interns or selling to enemies and screwing your friends?
