Oh, goody....real sharks weren't bad enough that now we have to have robot sharks? Wonder if they adhere to Asimov's Robotic
laws? -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. Heinlein |

I don't emember that one...ot's been a looong time since I've reread Asimov..should dig them off the shelf again. -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. Heh... I'm all for sharks eating more humans... as many as they can catch...
Sherman's Lagoon is a favourite comic strip of mine. I remember when we were chartering in the Exuma Cays and got the "oh so you're chartering" lip from a fat Yankee in a boat with his friends. Next morning in the anchorage I saw them waddling over the side for a swim. About a minute later I saw a shark fin break surface about ten yards away and watched it swim right under our boat chasing some bait fish. It was about 6 to 7 feet long.... I didn't warn the fat Yankees. It was so-o-o-o-o funny watching them exit in fear about 5 minutes later.... all that panicked splashing and screaming as they fought each other for the swim platform on their boat. I did swim over about 20 minutes later despite their shouts of "we saw a shark, get out of the water" and tell them I had seen the shark "before" they went in for a swim. When they asked incredulously why I didn't warn them.. I said I was rooting for the shark and got the impression they didn't want to be annoyed by "charter boat people"..... ha Ha CM "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... | you could hire Mooron to put on a shark fin and swim around. he can hold his | breath for 6.5 hours, ya know. | | Scotty | | "Roy G. Since humans aren't the preferred food source... it's fortunate the shark
recognized that what it took to be a harbor seal was a surfer... or that dude would be lunch. Awesome photo.... the shark looks to be about a 10 to 12 footer. CM "SkitchNYC" wrote in message ... | Heh... I'm all for sharks eating more humans... | | http://www.sailinganarchy.com/ | | scroll down |

Looks big for a dolphin... but the wave probably acts to enlarge the fish
substantially. Seems to me that the vertical fluke indicates a shark. It would, but it is hard to tell if it is vertical. You can also almost make out the sloping forehead of the dolphin. It is not unheard of for sharks to be in waves like that, however. A surfer buddy who I forwarded it to has seen such. |

Though some cruel editing would have made them better. Original three laws from _i, robot_: 1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such order would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. The "zeroeth law" was introduced, as FT says, in the Foundation series. I agree that the post-trilogy ones shoulda been mercilessly edited. It's basically the first law with "human being" changed to "humanity." Frank |
