Oh, goody....real sharks weren't bad enough that now we have to have robot sharks? Wonder if they adhere to Asimov's Robotic
laws? -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. Heinlein |

Though some cruel editing would have made them better. -- Flying Tadpole ------------------------- Learn what lies below the waves of cyberspace! http://www.internetopera.netfirms.com |

Though some cruel editing would have made them better. Original three laws from _i, robot_: 1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such order would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. The "zeroeth law" was introduced, as FT says, in the Foundation series. I agree that the post-trilogy ones shoulda been mercilessly edited. It's basically the first law with "human being" changed to "humanity." Frank |
