Anyone Sailing, besides me???

Katy is out sailing for 9 days. She can't come to the keyboard right now.

You go out in your boat, a few hundred yards offshore for a few hours, turn
around and run to the keyboard to tell us all about it.

Is what you do really sailing?

Doesn't seem like it, no does it???!!!

Gay Ganzy claims he sailed yesterday. But then he also claims he's

straight.
We've only seen a pic of him in a dinghy. Probably someone elses dinghy at
that! Stevey claims to sail a lot. His website has no new pics in years

and is
only semi-functional. Loco has yet to do more than post here about

sailing, and
mainly as my chew toy. I don't even know if he has a boat. We're seen ONE

pic
of scotty's headsail. At least we can HOPE that it's headsail. Lord even

knows
of Skitchy owns a boat. Billy Boy is clearly a daysailor by choice, but it
seems he sails once every two weeks...maybe he's a stewardess?
Mooron has posted pics of his sailing. Farr has done the same on several
occasions. Ozzy clearly sails.
We sail no less than 3-4 times a week. We sailed in the rain and cold at

the
start of the season. Last year we sailed Ghost in october when it was

gusting
to 40 knots and that was for scenes for a movie!
IF the rest of you truly have access to boats it would be in your best

interest
to use them. Take the poor boat out. It's true that I'm in sight of land.

On
the LIS, it's the best you can do. My wife is in school, so we can only

take a
few trips this year. Still, WE SAIL.
I suggest you try the same thing. GO SAILING. We're sailing tonight,

Friday and
the whole weekend. Get with it, folks!

Neal stays aboard his boat and sleeps. Is that really sailing? Loco gives no
evidence of even owning a boat. Scotty daysails and doesn't even overnight.
Katy tells you she's sailing and you swallow that...why?
I go for a "short" sail, then reward the sad-sacks here with a few pics of what
they could be doing. Yup, that's sailing.
And you know it.

Sailing is not simply a matter of going out on
the water a few hours at a time and putting
sails up.

Sailing is a way of life. A sailor sails. A sailor
calls his boat home for extensive periods of
time. A lubber like yourself only deludes himself
into thinking he is a sailor. Day sailors like you
are not REAL sailors or there would be no need
for the qualifier (day). A day sailor is simply a
glorified trailer sailor who just happens to keep
his boat in a slip. Kinda pathetic, really!

Real sailors like me who live aboard sail extensively
for months at a time then we take a break and
spend some time taking care of business. Day
sailing is OK after having done plenty of true
cruising under sail (the purest form of sailing, btw)
but we realize daysailing is but a poor substitute for t
he real thing.

Sadly, for you and most of the subscribers here
you do not know and probably never will know
the real thing.

I agree... Jon shows the tenacity of a Rottweiler on steroids. He is
relentless and shows no mercy. I believe that although he has shown a marked
improvement as of late.... he requires guidance in finesse by example. Soon
enough he will be able to attain the smooth fluid strokes required when
wielding a venom tipped pen.

I suggest we hone his skills for Thanksgiving Day.... his reward will be

I am being neither cruel to Bob nor converting Jon....

I've treated Bob with respect.... and I am simply assisting Jon to achieve

Honestly, Mooron. Ganzy has only shown the energy to respond. There still

respond to keep him going.
I have better fish to BBQ with Bill, Scotty and Donal swimming about!

RB

Capt. Mooron July 17th 03 02:08 PM

Jon... I would have approached this reply in a different manner. Direct
insults often fall short of target or can be parried since they are
telegraphed by posting style. Feign and redirection are often a better
tactic. In reply to the turkey comment for instance... you immediately
referred to Bob. This displayed a lack of subtlety. You could have inquired
if as the Carver... the selection of the tenderest Butterball could be left
to you. Think of the fowl jabs that could have generated. Most people are
under the impression that turkeys are so dumb as to drown themselves looking
up at a thunder storm with their beaks open. Turkeys gobble and strut!
Stuffing recipes alone could have generated replies.....

Remember to think well ahead.....

I again wish to thank Bob for his patience in this matter.

Ganz doesn't need any help. He's doing fine being himself.

It's you who misses the point.

Jonathan loves sailing. He enables kids and adults alike to go out sailing.
He volunteers his own time. He has lovingly restored a boat that otherwise
would have been chainsawed to pieces. He is sensitive and caring, he has
amazing tenacity and he fights back. He fights for the good.

If anything, he's shown the goodness of his character and has also shown
what a cruel bully Bobsprit is. Bobsprit is not directly attacking Ganz, he
is attacking the goodness and absolute wholesomeness that Ganz represents.
Bobsprit believes that there is no true goodness in the world, that there is
not absolute right or wrong, that hard work surely doesn't pay, in all Booby
hates virtue. Note how Bobsprit attacks those who work, how he flaunts
"getting something for nothing" - just look, he prides himself on "beating
the system" and attacking the virtuous. Bobsprit sides with liberals and
even expounds using liberal tactics to troll. He's just a playground bully,
but the day will come when the playground fence is torn down and he'll have
to deal with real bullies.

Yes! But are you sure that is what you meant to say?

Ambiguous wording????

I should have said, "I don't have the clap any more."

Goodness

must stand on it's own merits... otherwise it is a wasted sentiment and a
futile path.

Goodness and the ability to defend goodness are mutually exclusive.
In the world, the guy with the biggest gun/club/bank account wins. It
doesn't matter if he's good or bad, he's just the biggest.
People band together and form tribes, societies and governments to fight off
the other big guy. Some of these societies are formed around goodness, such
as these United States of America, a nation of individual states. Without
numbers of people organized to protect goodness, it will eventually
perish/diminish.

Goodness needs no more defense than Evil or Greed require address.... they
are subjective. What appears as goodness to you may well be perceived as
evil to others. Intent is not a qualifier or an excuse.

| In the world, the guy with the biggest gun/club/bank account wins. It

It also must be taken into account that the people on the winner's side
would view him as good and the losers would view him as bad. He is neither
good nor bad. I doubt a "villain" sees himself as evil. I don't think a
villain wakes up every morning thinking "what evil may I inflict on this
world today".... no more so than I would believe a "good" person awakes and
asks "what goodness may I do today".

A prime example of the results of defense of what is perceived as
"goodness"... you are basing your view of the USA on "goodness".... yet the
world fears your country. The USA has acted in it's own best interest at the
expense of others. Is this "goodness"? It has, in the past, acted in a
petty and vindictive manner. Is this "goodness"? It has exploited and it has
intimidated in the name of "goodness". It has in all aspects acted with
greed and evil in it's own best interest. I state now that there is nothing
wrong with that... as long as the realization exists that the action is not
shrouded as "goodness" nor "evil".

We all like to believe that we are righteous and that we alone hold the
flame of truth and goodness.... the best we can actually do is to balance
the Ying and Yang. Generosity, compassion, love, greed, envy and anger must
be balanced.... they cannot be defended and they must stand on their own
merits.
